Ashlie Beringer
Ashlie Beringer brings nearly three decades of experience representing media and technology companies through transformation and crisis. Her practice centers on defending tech companies in global regulatory and litigation matters and advising on product, business, and compliance strategies—especially around disruptive technologies, privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and blockchain.
She actively represents companies across industries in regulatory and criminal investigations before the FTC, CFPB, NYDFS, DOJ, and Attorneys General in California, New York, Washington DC, and other states, while coordinating parallel global investigations.
Ashlie rejoined Gibson Dunn as a partner in Palo Alto after serving as Facebook’s Deputy General Counsel (2013–2020), where she led global Privacy, Product, Regulatory, and Litigation legal teams. She was part of Facebook’s core management team, defending against hundreds of regulatory challenges and lawsuits, and designing strategies that advanced business goals with regulatory approval. She built and led a global team of 180+ legal professionals, fostering collaboration and innovation.
She now serves as Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn’s Tech and Innovation Practice Group and Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Innovation Practice Group. Ashlie advises public company Boards on cybersecurity oversight and works closely with C-Suite teams on business and product strategy, leveraging her regulatory, business, and tech expertise.
Ashlie created the Art of Product Counseling Method™, a strategic model for mitigating risks during product launches, and has trained many legal teams through dedicated workshops.
Before Facebook, she was a partner at Gibson Dunn, where she built a leading tech practice and helped shape legal frameworks for emerging platforms.
Chambers highlights Ashlie as a key contact in Gibson Dunn’s global TMT practice. Legal 500 calls her the go-to for complex regulatory investigations.
